"Seldom have these traditional songs sounded as fresh, relaxed and alive as in Deivert’s versions. A spectacular album." - Blues News magazine, Germany

NEWS:

The Gothenburg Blues Party in the great castle park, SLOTTSSKOGEN in the lovely city of Göteborg, or Gothenburg as the English speakers say! 3 days with lots of great acts. I will be on about 5 PM on Saturday the 27th of June. Janne was unable to be at this gig, so the great Swedish musician and singer Marcus Svensson will be doing some numbers with me.

Unfortunately due to illness, I couldn't make the
Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival near Toronto, Canada.I do hope to be there next year.

Janne and I did 2 gigs and a blues mandolin workshop at the Ashburton Blues Festival in Devon, UK. It was a wonderful place and fantastic people. There are some pics and a slideshow up on Flicker if you want to check it out.

I recently helped young Swedish blues guitar and piano protegé Fredrick Karlsson to record some acoustic slide guitar in my studio for the new Memphis Gold record that just came out Gator Gon' Bitechu!- (Stackhouse Records, USA). I talked to Memphis and sent him some blues mando licks, so he used it too on Catfish Creeper. Check out Memphis Gold's website and music. Great musician and wonderful guy!

Well here it is March already and we are back in Sweden gearing up for the festivals coming up.
We had a great time at THE PHUKET INTERNATIONAL BLUES FESTIVAL in Thailand, meeting some wonderful people and
peformers. We also had a great gig at ADHERE 13 Blues Club in Bangkok on Than Samsen near Khao San Road. It is a wonderful jam place and warm and friendly with a mix of local Thai musicians and artists and expats from all over the world that live in Bangkok. The house band, Banglampu Blues Band with stellar guitarist Pong, was making a cd and invited me to play on three tracks. We recorded at the SEXY PINK STUDIO, state of the art place, and had a great time. I plan to go back! After the gigs I spent a few weeks around Bangkok and Kanchanaburi Province.
There is a new cd review from BLUESSOURCE.COM in Clarksdale.

Starting to mix and record the next cd which will be focused on blues mandolin. I recorded tracks at Big Toe Studio in Duncan, Mississippi recently with Bill Abel on guitar and legendary delta drummer Sam Carr.
